Level Concept: Lost City

These level concepts are a quick “sketch” of an area that could potentially be built out into a fully playable environment, akin to a highly-detailed piece of concept art.

Here’s a quick level concept that I created in 4 or 5 hours with the Sandbox Editor 3 for Crysis 2. Be sure to click the “Read More…” link to view a couple more images.

All mesh assets used here came straight out of Crysis 2, so all relevent rights are those of EA/Crytek.

I downloaded the sandbox editor the other day and can’t even get it to load existing levels. Any chance you’ll be doing a tutorial at any point? Great work by the way.

    Beyond!

Thanks. Do you have Crysis 2 installed? I had no issues, so I don’t have any troubleshooting tips, unfortunately. I don’t know if it matters, but you might want to make sure that you’ve installed the Crysis 2 editor as opposed to the full CryEngine SDK – I’m not sure whether or not the latter will load the game’s assets.

I have Crysis 2, Sandbox, and Cryengine3 SDK installed, perhaps the fact I have all of them is causing problems? though the Sandbox and SDK are in different directories. The SDK opens the test level with the lighthouse but not the Crysis 2 levels, which makes vague sense. But the sandbox refuses to open anything. Which were you using?

I have all three installed as well, all in their default locations, so I didn’t really need to set anything up and they all worked as expected. Google is probably your best friend in this case…
